About This Site And Recent Update Changes

For the last 15 years this website is run voluntary by myself featuring my vintage radio projects that I have got successfully working myself. I do not do any vintage radio repairs or make any money out of this business as I feature these projects for pleasure and like to make it feel like the old days of radio magazines. Most of the valve receiver projects use very lethal high voltages and are not suitable as a first time project for absolute beginners to this hobby. My following link Simple Radio Receiver Circuits For Beginners is suitable for children aged 12 and upwards who must also be supervised by an adult. The following link Important Electrical Safety Issues Related To Valve Equipment has full details on this subject but please note the following statement. I hold no responsibility for injury or death due to incorrect respect regarding mains electricity and you are entirely taking your own risk. If are in doubt seek advice from a competent technician who knows what they are doing.

News Of Recent Updates And Changes To This Website In 2023

Following the successful switch from the old http to https protocol there are few other changes that will follow gradually to this entire website during 2023 which I will explain the following. All old hand drawn circuit diagrams are all going to be removed and outdated component lists are going to be removed. Also I sadly regret because of the possible switchover to digital by 2030, There will be no more new Radio projects featured on this site related to AM Radio on the medium and long wave bands. Courtney to popular belief the shortwave amateur bands may still hold future and the odd project may still be featured but please bear the following note. AM Radio stations are now outnumbered and it is not recommended to build a receiver just for the long and medium wave bands as there is not much choice left anymore particularly in the UK. Amplifier and hi fi  projects will still remain as well as FM Radio for the foreseeable future. From late February onwards  my email address will no longer be an automatic hyperlink from any webpage as I am getting spam bots which are nothing to do with any of the projects within this website.
